Considered the best point guard outside of Europe for years, Serbia’s Milos Teodosic finally decided to bring his talents to the NBA. In July 2017, Teodosic signed a 2-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, worth $12.3 million and with an included player option on Year 2. But, according to The Score, prior to joining the Clippers, Teodosic was all set to join the Chicago Bulls.

According to Teodosic’s agent Nick Lotsos, there was a 3-year, $30 million deal with the Bulls on the table, but the agreement fell through after the team traded Jimmy Butler and entered the rebuilding phase.

We initially had a deal with the Chicago Bulls” – Lotsos said. ” … After a few days the GM, Gar Forman, called me. We had agreed to a contract close to $30 million for three years, similar to the one Bogdan Bogdanovic signed in Sacramento. My only objection was that I wanted Milos to have the chance to opt out every summer because I believe that he can (get) All-Star money. We were ready to sign and Forman wanted the deal for one more reason. There are many Serbs in Chicago

After the Bulls passed on the player who would actually make their team better, the Clippers stepped in and grabbed Teodosic. The deal benefited both sides since Clippers needed a point guard after Chris Paul went to the Houston Rockets and Teodosic ended up with the team that would start him and enable him to play in the playoffs.

The 30-year old Milos Teodosic came to NBA after a successful 6-year stint with the CSKA Moscow. During his time at the club, Teodosic won EuroLeague MVP award in 2011 and has EuroLeague champion title under his belt among other honors and accolades. He also found success with Serbia men’s national basketball team, winning a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
