Atlanta United’s midfielder Miguel Almiron is probably counting his last days in the MLS. This talented 24-year-old Paraguay international sparked the interest of several European high profile clubs, who already started to inquire about his services. And, while Almiron still doesn’t have a preference when it comes to the club he would like to play for next, he would prefer it was based in England.

He told ESPN FC in a recent interview that he would rather play in the Premier League than Spain’s La Liga or Italy’s Seria A.

Yes, I really like the English style of football for the dynamic play and the competitiveness these is,” – explained Almiron. “I think all of the teams are very good and they’re all fighting. I think that aspect helps you as a footballer.

Most soccer players from South America take a different route and choose La Liga as their destination. This is because, in Spain, the teams gravitate towards more technique based soccer, while in England, the game has a more physical nature. However, Miguel Almiron doesn’t consider this to be an issue and thinks he would adapt quickly.

Yes. I’m sure that if the time comes whether I will do poorly or well, but I’m really confident in the work I do,” – he said when asked whether Premier League soccer would suit him. “If it’s the right time to go, I will try to do things in the best way to ensure it goes well.

It is highly likely that Miguel Almiron gets his whish true in January since Premier League clubs Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle United have been particularly keen on his services.

Almiron played 36 games in MLS this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists and helping Atlanta United to reach MLS Cup Finals.
