Miami Dolphins haven’t finished with tearing down their roster. After trading several key players in the offseason, including Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills, Dolphins are now about to say goodbye to cornerback/safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

According to ESPN, Fitzpatrick received permission from the team to seek a trade, and his agent has been in contact with several teams over these past few days. Reportedly the 22-year-old is unhappy with his role on the team and is especially disgruntled about the fact that he is playing multiple positions.

So far, however, the talks between other teams and the Dolphins haven’t caught much traction. The main reason for this is that Miami is asking for a first-round pick for Fitzpatrick, something which his suitors aren’t exactly ready to give up.

Despite the trade looming over his head, Fitzpatrick is expected to play on Sunday’s game against New England Patriots.

“I can’t focus on this trade, and this and that,” – Fitzpatrick told reporters on Friday when asked about the trade. “I’m focused on Sunday. I’ve got to focus on the New England Patriots.”

Miami Dolphins took Minkah Fitzpatrick 11th overall in 2018 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Fitzpatrick played all 16 games (11 as a starter) and contributed with 80 tackles, nine pass deflections, two interceptions, and one touchdown.
