Los Angeles Galaxy and Mexico star Jonathan dos Santos have been linked with a move away from MLS for some time now. Despite all the rumors, however, it turns out that the 29-year-old midfielder is happy at his current club.

LA Sports Access’ Delmy Barillas shared on her social media on Wednesday that dos Santos told her that he wants to finish his career with Galaxy. He also added that he thinks he can play for five to seven more years.

Dos Santos played 29 games this regular season with Galaxy, scoring two goals and dishing one assist while earning his first MLS All-Star appearance. He also scored one goal in the playoffs.

One of the frequently mentioned destinations for the Jonathan dos Santos is Club América, where his brother Giovanni dos Santos plays. Dos Santos himself previously said that his dream is to play for this club, but is focused on Galaxy at the moment.

“América is the team of my dreams,” – said dos Santos back in October. “I do not think they need me right now, they have great players of high level. And right now I am thinking about the Galaxy, finishing my contract and, if it happens to be the case, to be able to extend it.”
