PSG star Kylian Mbappe is doubtful to appear in his team’s game against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on February 14.

Mbappe was injured during PSG’s 3-1 win away at Montpellier on Wednesday. The 24-year-old player picked up a knee and thigh injury after being on the receiving end of a tackle by Montpellier midfielder Leo Leroy. He was substituted in the 21st minute of the game as a result.

Currently, the severity of Mbappe’s injury remains unconfirmed. “Is it a bruise? Is it a contusion? We don’t know yet,” PSG manager Christophe Galtier said. He remained positive, however, explaining that his team is not too worried about the injury as it does not appear to be serious.

The French international is set to undergo scans on his knee and thigh first thing on Thursday morning, after which a clear picture of the injury is expected to be painted. The setback does, however, leave Mbappe uncertain to appear in the first-leg clash against Bayern Munich, which will see PSG host the German club at the Parc des Princes.
