Kylian Mbappe became Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time leading goalscorer in Ligue 1 on Saturday when he found the back of the net in his team’s 3-1 victory over Lens.

Mbappe opened the scoring for the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the 31st minute, grabbing his 139th goal in Ligue 1 for the team and thereby surpassing the previous record held by Edison Cavani.

The 24-year-old scored off of a pass from Vitinha, with Vitinha himself getting on the scoresheet just six minutes later to double the hosts’ lead. In the 40th minute, Lionel Messi scored after engaging in a series of passes with Kylian Mbappe in a fast-paced build-up.

Following the halftime break, PSG appeared to cool down from their hit streak in the latter stages of the first half, with Lens gaining some momentum. While Lens’ efforts paid off in the 60th minute when Przemyslaw Frankowski successfully converted a penalty, they were unable to find the other two goals they needed to reduce the deficit.
