The Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors produced a three-point bonanza in their clash on Sunday night. The two teams combined to make 48 shots from beyond the arc in the Mavs’ 143-133 win and set a new NBA record for most threes in a single game.

The Warriors were one of the teams holding the previous record, which was 43 three-pointers made in Golden State’s 147-140 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019.

The Mavs made 21 threes out of 41 attempts, with former Warrior Klay Thompson going 7 out of 11 on three-pointers. Superstar Luka Doncic added six threes on 11 attempts as well.

“I love shooting at Chase Center,” said Thompson, who left the Warriors after 13 years in the summer to sign with the Mavs as a free agent. “I mean, I’ve been lucky enough to set records here and have incredible memories, so I try to tap into that every time I’m back.

The Warriors went on to score 27 three-pointers on 54 attempts. They also tied the NBA record for most threes in a half with 18. Stephen Curry made seven shots beyond the arc, while Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green added five each.

After the win, the Mavs find themselves fourth in the Western Conference standings with a 17-9 record and eight wins in their last 10 contests.

The Warriors, on the other hand, fell to seventh with a 14-11 record and eight losses in their last 10 games.
