The Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum is set to be sidelined for three months, sources revealed to ESPN. This came after Exum underwent surgery on his right wrist.

Exum suffered his injury during a training camp workout, deciding to undergo surgery after reviewing multiple recovery options. The 29-year-old guard has suffered a slew of injury setbacks throughout his career to date.

Arriving in Dallas after spending two seasons in Europe, Exum enjoyed a standout season during the last campaign, making his absence all the more of a loss for the Mavericks. Last season, Exum averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 assists across 55 games, earning his reputation as one of the Mavericks’ most reliable and skillfully defencemen.
