Washington Redskins are sorting out their contract extensions. They didn’t get Kirk Cousins locked up just yet, but they have managed to strike a deal with their linebacker Mason Foster. According to reports, Foster penned a two-year deal, worth around $4 million. Including the bonuses, he could make up to $7 million during that period of time. The 28-year old shared with his Twitter followers a picture of himself signing the contract.

I know the type of guys we have in the room,” – said Foster to ESPN. “I know the coaches we have and I want to make something happen. It wasn’t about money, nothing besides this is my family. These guys have been here for me. When I was hurt, all these guys were there for me. I want to leave my mark in D.C. before I walk away from football.

Mason Foster started his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011, spending 4 years with the team. He was then briefly a member of Chicago Bears, before coming to Washington. He didn’t manage to do much in 2017 since his season was limited to five games due to a torn labrum suffered. Until then he had 30 combined tackles, half a sack, and one interception. Still, in previous two seasons, he managed to show his toughness and value to the team.

All these guys have an unbelievable amount of toughness to them and Mason is probably the tip of that spear, as far as that stuff goes,” – said inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti about Foster. “He was playing through stuff from, you know, the second quarter of the L.A. Rams game all the way through until it just couldn’t go anymore. He did a great job and he continued to prepare and continued to play with toughness, and on some days it wasn’t showing up and I think all of us knew what he was trying to get through week in and week out and you just respect the heck out of the guy for stuff like that.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
