Struggling Premier League powerhouse Manchester United is expected to be active in the January transfer window, with the goal of strengthening its defense. Reportedly, their first order of business will be making a move for the United States men’s national team and Fulham left back Antonee Robinson.

According to a recent report by Mirror, Robinson’s ability to contribute in both defense and attack is considered to be a perfect fit for new head coach Ruben Amorim’s system, which uses wing backs. The resident left backs, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, have been prone to injuries, while deploying right back Diogo Daolot to the left side didn’t provide positive results.

However, United could face several obstacles in their pursuit of Robinson. First, Fulham considers Robinson one of their best players and would only be willing to let him go for a fee of $50 million. It is unclear whether the Red Devils can meet the asking price, considering their massive spending spree in the summer.

Additionally, several other clubs are interested in Robinson. Premier League leaders Liverpool have already contacted Fulham and are believed to be front runners to sign the player.

Antonee Robinson has been enjoying a stellar campaign with Fulham in 2024-25. He started all 19 games in the Premier League this season and has contributed seven assists.
