It’s another day, another signing rumor for Manchester United after news broke on Tuesday that the club is reportedly close to signing Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The current Lazio player has been the subject of multiple transfer rumors over the past year after establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A.

According to the report from Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Manchester United will pay around $84 million for the 24-year-old.

The Serbian National team member joined Lazio in 2015 after spending a season playing for Genk’s first team. He has become a fixture in the Italians’ lineup, playing 125 games and scoring 22 goals over the past four seasons.

Sergej featured in all three Group Stage matches for Serbia in the 2018 World Cup. He is heralded as an all-around midfielder with both offensive and defensive capabilities.

If the Sergej transfer materializes, it will provide Man U with even more motivation to send unhappy midfielder Paul Pogba out to another team. Real Madrid has reportedly been hot on the trail in pursuit of the French National Team player.

Now, the soccer world will wait to see if Man U is able to secure one of the world’s top midfielders and how that could change other clubs’ pursuit of Pogba.
