Premier League powerhouse Manchester United is looking to part ways with star forward Marcus Rashford, according to a report by Guardian’s Jamie Jackson.

Rashford has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for several seasons due to his inconsistency and off-the-field behavior, but he ended up staying each time due to his immense talent and the fact that he’s an academy graduate. But it appears that the new head coach, Ruben Amorim, decided he isn’t willing to deal with the bad for the occasional good.

Amorim dropped Rashford from the starting lineup in a 2-1 win over rivals Manchester City on Sunday and has now told the club to sanction the sale of the England international. Jackson reports that Amorim believes Rashford’s exit is crucial for the “cultural reboot” he is aiming for.

Man United’s part owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is also believed to be on board. He will gladly take a loss on Rashford if it means seeing him out of the door sooner rather than later.

Rashford was previously linked with Paris Saint-Germain, with the League 1 club reportedly being willing to pay around $120 million for his services a couple of years ago. However, it is unlikely that he would fetch anything near that now. United could also face a challenge in their attempts to sell him due to his high wages.

In 24 games played in all competitions in 2024-25, Rashford scored seven goals and added three assists.
