With more than a week before the Premier League starts, British clubs are rushing to secure new players and build their teams so they would be ready to compete for this year’s title.

Reportedly, Manchester United are bringing yet another reinforcement to their squad, this time coming from Portugal. Namely, the British Premier League club is close to signing Bruno Fernandes from the Portuguese club Sporting CP.

The Spanish media is reporting that United have scored a deal with the Portuguese club, costing them around $86.6 million which would make it one of the heaviest transfers for this summer. Also, media reports that the move will be completed in around 48 hours. If this goes through, the contract will be the third most expensive after the acquirements of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba.

Apparently, Fernandes, who is currently 24 years old, will be on his way to England to undergo United’s medical checkup before the deal goes official.

Manchester United is probably bringing Fernandes to replace the midfielder Ander Herrera who joined Paris Saint Germain earlier this summer. So far, he was part of four clubs including Novara, Udinese, and Sampdoria.
