The future of Joao Cancelo was hanging in the air for quite some time, with rumors connecting him to a couple of great European clubs during the last few months. The Serie A club Juventus has been trying to sell the player since the start of this transfer season as they have made some heavy acquirements so far and they really needed financial injection.

A few days ago, media reported that the British Premier League club Manchester City have showed renewed interest in the player but nothing was certain because other clubs were in the race to sign him as well.

Finally, the 25-year-old player’s future is certain after Manchester City announced the official signing of the player at Etihad Stadium. Cancelo’s contract comes at a greater price than Juventus had hoped for with a stunning fee of over $72 million. The player put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will last until 2025.

Cancelo said that City is a fantastic club with a brilliant manager and that he was delighted to be there. He also added that everything about the club impressed him, from the facilities to their style of play.
