Another matchday has come and gone in the Premier League, and we’re still no closer to knowing which team will take home the trophy this season.

Manchester City and Liverpool both won over the weekend to stay within one point of one another in the EPL race.

Manchester City was up first over the weekend, and many feared that they’d put up a dud after an extremely disappointing Champions League quarter-finals elimination during the middle of the week.

In fact, they went up against the very team that eliminated them in the form of Tottenham Hotspur.

Man City, however, overcame their demons and claimed a 1-0 home victory over Spurs.

Young midfielder Phil Foden scored the only goal of the match for Pep Guardiola’s men, knocking in a fifth-minute goal that was enough to give City the victory.

Liverpool was up on Sunday, and they traveled to Wales and left with a 0-2 victory over Cardiff City.

Despite an inspired performance by the Bluebirds, Liverpool’s talent won over. Georginio Winjaldum put up the Reds 1-0 in the 57th minute, and then a James Milner penalty in the 81st wrapped up the win.

Liverpool now leads Man City by one point in the standings, but Manchester City does have one more game left on their schedule than the Reds.

The title race continues as Man City faces Manchester United on Wednesday night.
