Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly made contact with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford over a potential transfer this summer. The reigning Ligue 1 champions reportedly met with Rashford’s representatives last week and are reportedly prepared to offer the 24-year-old player a large contract.
Rashford still has one year left on his current contract, meaning that a move to PSG during the current transfer window may be a rare opportunity for Manchester United to earn an income from the player’s departure seeing as he would leave the club as a free agent next summer if he declines a contract extension before then. PSG has so far not made any contact with Manchester United.
New PSG manager Christophe Galtier revealed at a news conference on Thursday that he is determined to sign a new forward before the close of the current transfer window – particularly one that could play out wide or as a number 9. Marcus Rashford has exhibited his ability to do both.
Prior to his dismissal, former PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed an interest in bringing Rashford to the Parc des Princes, however, no official bid was sent to Manchester United. With three months to go until the World Cup, a move to PSG could provide Rashford with the boost he needs to break back into the England squad, particularly since he would be playing Champions League football.
