Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag revealed that he met with billionaire Jim Ratcliffe on Friday following Ratcliffe’s bid to purchase the club. This comes after Ratcliffe, the founder and CEO of chemical company INEOS, submitted an opening bid to take over the club.
Prior to meeting with ten Hag, Ratcliffe met with Man Utd CEO Richard Arnold at Old Trafford after which he embarked on a tour of the Carrington training base.
“I just met them, we shake hands, I’m focused on the game. We play a big game on Sunday, all our focus is on that, others in the club are dealing with potential investors,” ten Hag commented during a news conference ahead of his team’s FA Cup quarterfinal match with Fulham on Sunday. Ten Hag’s meeting with Ratcliffe came after the team touched down in Manchester after defeating Real Betis 1-0 in their Europa League round of 16 match on Thursday night.
Ratcliffe’s visit to Old Trafford came a day after representatives of Qatar businessman Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani visited the facility and engaged in discussions with officials from the club.
