Manchester United clawed their way back from a goal down to defeat Fulham 3-1 in their FA Cup quarterfinal tie at Old Trafford on Sunday night, thereby securing their spot in the semifinals where they’ll face Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fulham appeared to be in the driving seat during early proceedings, with the team gaining a valuable lead when Aleksandar Mitrovic scored five minutes into the second half. On the 70th-minute mark, however, the away team capitulated in one moment of madness.

Willian was shown a red card when he blocked a shot in the box from Bruno Fernandes with his hand. Mitrovic proceeded to dispute the decision, receiving a red card as well after he physically pushed the referee. Manager Marco Silva was sent off as well due to his own outburst regarding the penalty decision.

Bruno Fernandes successfully converted the penalty, with Luke Shaw providing the assist as Marcel Sabitzer handed Man Utd the lead two minutes later. It was six minutes into stoppage time when Fernandes put the final nail in Fulham’s coffin, handing a third goal to the home side.

Man Utd and Bright face off on April 22, with Manchester City and Sheffield United playing in the other semifinal at the same time.
