Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will remain part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plans should the British billionaire succeed in his bid to purchase a 25% stake in the club. Ratcliffe is expected to pay in the region of £1.3 billion ($1.58 billion), sources revealed.

While Ten Hag’s Man United team has struggled this season, losing six of their 11 games so far in all competitions, the INEOS chemicals company founder is believed to still have faith in the Dutch manager and considers him to be part of his plans for the club going forward.

Ten Hag enjoyed an impressive first campaign with the Red Devils last season, leading them to a Carabao Cup victory as well as third place in the Premier League, thereby securing qualification to this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Although Ratcliffe previously faced competition to buy the club from Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim, he decided to withdraw his offer for 100% ownership of the club after his £5 billion bid was rejected by the Glazer family.
