Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has thrown his support behind Marcus Rashford after the winger continued to show signs of struggling during his team’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday night.
“I know this issue is coming up and Marcus is investing a lot, we support him and he will return to his form,” Ten Hag stated after the match. “He works hard and he’s investing a lot. He will get back, he will recover and he gets all our support.”
Rashford was in fine form last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions, however, this season has painted a different picture. In 18 games in all competitions, Rashford has managed to net just one goal. The 26-year-old is not alone in his struggles, however, with the entire Man United squad struggling to emulate their strong form from the last campaign. Before the Christmas period, United have already lost six Premier League games and 10 in all competitions.
