Manchester City’s forward Raheem Sterling could be on the move when the transfer window opens in January. According to the Spanish media outlet Sport, La Liga giants Barcelona are interested in bringing Sterling to Camp Nou while the player is also keen on the switch.

The proposed move would see Sterling joining Barca on loan. This is the only way that the Catalan club could facilitate the move considering their tough financial situation at the moment.

Barca previously made a move to get Sterling during the summer, but City wasn’t willing to let the 26-year-old star go as they failed to sign a striker. But despite this, Sterling isn’t playing a significant role with the Premier League powerhouse, and it is now believed the club has softened its stance.

Barcelona reportedly remained engaged with Sterling’s representatives and is willing to make another attempt to acquire the player. The England international, on the other hand, would not be opposed to making a move to Spain as he believes he would get more playing time and be a key figure for the club.

Raheem Sterling joined Manchester City in 2015 from Liverpool and has since made 302 appearances for the club while scoring 115 goals and dishing 88 assists. He helped the club win nine trophies during that span, including three Premier League titles.

Sterling played 10 games in 2021-22 but only started four of those games and has just one goal to show for.
