Manchester City is hoping that Bournemouth’s standout Nathan Ake could be the solution for their problems in defense. According to reports from England, City offered around $48.5 million for Ake in recent days and received a positive response from Bournemouth.

Bournemouth IS forced to sell Ake due to relegation from Premier League this season. The 25-year-old Dutch international was one of the club’s rare bright spots in 2019/20 and has recently attracted interest from several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Manchester City, however, made the first move by offering $47 million upfront to Bournemouth and an additional $1.5 million in bonuses. They still haven’t agreed to personal terms with the player, but Ake is believed to be interested in playing on Etihad.

The only club that could spoil City’s plans is Chelsea, who sold Nathan Ake to Bournemouth back in 2018. As part of that deal, the London club retained a $47 million buy-back clause on the player, but it remains unclear whether they intend to use it.

Since joining Bournemouth, Ake played 121 games with the club and scored 11 goals. His stellar performances also brought him a call-up to Netherland’s national team, and he tallied 13 appearances since 2017.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
