Manchester City reportedly accepted a €35 million offer for winger Riyad Mahrez from Saudi Arabia side Al Ahli. Mahrez is keen on the move, and the deal is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

According to soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, Mahrez is set to undergo a medical with Al Ahli in the next 24 hours and will ink a deal until 2027. The Algeria national team captain is expected to earn €30 million a year with his new club.

Mahrez will become the third high-profile player from Europe to join Al Ahli this summer. The Saudi Pro League club previously signed ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.

Riyad Mahrez joined Manchester City from Leicester City in 2018 and has been a high-performing player for the club ever since. Mahrez played a total of 236 games in the past five seasons with Man City, scoring 82 goals and adding 65 assists. He also helped the club win 11 trophies, including a treble of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup in the past season.

Mahrez isn’t the only important player to leave City this summer. The club’s captain Ilkay Gundogan departed for Barcelona as a free agent earlier this month, while the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, and Kalvin Phillips are expected to be on the move as well.
