Guard Mac McClung, who won back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Contest titles, has reportedly received a two-way deal with the Orlando Magic.

McClung initially joined the Magic on an Exhibit 10 contract in the offseason. This type of deal was basically a non-guaranteed deal that acted as an invite to training camp. With the two-way deal, McClung is set to receive half of the NBA’s minimum salary while being eligible to play in both the NBA and G League.

Despite his dunking prowess, McClung has struggled to find a role for himself in the NBA. Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021, McClung spent time with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Philadelphia 76ers but managed to play only four games.

During his four games, McClung actually had a solid showing. Spending 16.3 minutes on the floor per game, he averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

McClung was even better during his stint in the G League, which likely prompted Magic’s decision to give him an opportunity this season. Playing for Orlando’s affiliate Osceola Magic, he won the G League MVP honors after averaging a league-best 25.7 points to go with 4.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists across 27 games.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
