With the Ligue 1 season officially being over, it seems like Dutch star winger Memphis Depay might have played his last game in Lyon’s jersey. According to ESPN, the club is thinking about selling Depay in the summer as he refuses to extend his contract.

Depay emerged as Lyon’s best player in recent years, and was in the middle of another productive season, netting 14 goals in just 18 games. Considering that his contract is expiring next year, Lyon was eager to sign him to a long-term extension with a big pay-rise, but the player reportedly isn’t interested.

Lyon won’t risk losing him for nothing in 2021, so they are willing to sell the player if he doesn’t ink a deal soon. French club will most likely demand around $35 million for Depay’s services, which is well below his real value.

Several European top clubs are interested in Memphis Depay with his stocks being particularly high in Italy where Juventus, Inter and Roma are closely monitoring him. Premier League powerhouse Manchester United also shouldn’t be ruled, as they have a buy-back clause after selling Depay to Lyon in 2017.

Since arriving to France, Depay made 134 appearances with Lyon in all competitions, scoring 57 goals and dishing 37 assists in the process.
