Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw has agreed to a long-term contract extension, the club announced on Tuesday. The 27-year-old player signed a four-year deal with the Red Devils through June 2027.

With Shaw’s previous contract due to expire at the end of the season, this is the first of several contract renewals that Man Utd is reportedly seeking to conclude before the end of the season.

“Nine years ago, I signed for this amazing club, and I’m thrilled to be extending my stay,” Shaw told the club’s website following the conclusion of his new deal. “I’ve grown immensely since coming to Manchester all those years ago, both as a person and as a player; I know what is needed to succeed at a club like this.”

Shaw commented on the excitement at the club due to the arrival of manager Erik ten Hag at the start of the season and the success that the team has so far enjoyed, including winning the Carabao Cup; Man Utd’s first trophy in almost six years.
