Dallas Mavericks’ superstar Luka Doncic is the new member of the NBA’s 10,000 points club. Doncic reached the mark after scoring 50 points in a 128-114 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.

Doncic needed just 358 games to reach 10K career points in the NBA, which is the seventh fastest in league history. The most recent player to do it in fewer games was legendary Michael Jordan.

While the highlight of the night was his scoring, Doncic impacted the Suns’ game in all sorts of other ways. He also dished 15 assists and grabbed six rebounds while adding four steals and three blocks.

“Always, when this kind [of] award comes with a win, it’s even more fun,” said Doncic after the game. “It was a tough road game, and we won. So, outside of the 10K and 50 points, we won the game. So, I’m really happy.”

Doncic has been on a tear so far in 2023-24, making a case for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award. He is averaging a career-high 33.5 points and 9.4 assists while adding 8.5 rebounds and shooting a career-best 38.7 from behind the arc.

Thanks to Doncic’s impressive run, the Mavs are currently fifth in the Western Conference with an 18-12 record.
