Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will be sidelined for his team’s road game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. This comes after he picked up a left thigh strain.
The Mavericks’ point guard has been harboring a left thigh injury for several games, with the pain getting progressively worse over time. As a result, Doncic exited during the third quarter from the Mavericks’ 113-106 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.
Doncic underwent an MRI scan on Thursday, however, no damage on his thigh was revealed. Sources revealed to ESPN that Doncic is expected to be able to return to action once his discomfort subsides.
In addition to Doncic, Kyrie Irving has been listed as questionable as he continues to experience right foot soreness. “Hopefully, he’ll be able to join us in Memphis,” Dallas coach Jason Kidd told reporters when asked about the player’s fitness.
Currently, the Mavericks consider Doncic’s injury as being day-to-day, Kidd revealed.
