Despite being one of the best teams in the NFL, Los Angeles Rams are still looking for ways to improve and have now acquired pass rusher Dante Fowler from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rams have sent their 2019 third-round pick and a 2020 fifth-round pick to Jags in exchange for the 24-year-old. Both teams confirmed the move on Tuesday.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, there were several other teams interested in Dante Fowler including New York Jets and Green Bay Packers. The Jags initially asked for a second-round pick for Fowler, whom they drafted third overall in 2015, but no one was willing to pay that price, so they took the Rams’ offer, which was the best one on the table.
Having otherwise a stacked defense, Los Angeles Rams’ only issue this season was pass rush. The team has extensively searched for someone to fill that need, and they now hope Fowler could be the guy.
Despite being a high draft pick, Dante Fowler never managed to establish himself as a valuable part of Jacksonville’s team. After struggling with injuries and discipline, he fell down the pecking order and has played only 32.7 percent of Jags’ defensive snaps this season, recording eight tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Still, Fowler showed flashes of amazing talent in the past, and he may rediscover it again in Los Angeles.
