Liverpool confirmed that its first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to be sidelined for six weeks after incurring a hamstring injury during his team’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Becker was forced off the field in the 79th minute, replaced by third-choice substitute keeper Vitezslav Jaros. During Alisson’s absence, second goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher is expected to take over as Liverpool’s starting goalkeeper once the club gets back into action following the ongoing international break.

Since taking over as manager from Jurgen Klopp in the summer, Arne Slot has enjoyed notable success at the start of his Liverpool career. The club is currently at the top of the Premier League table, winning six of their seven matches so far. Once the international break comes to an end, Liverpool will face Chelsea in the league before traveling to face RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.
