Jurgen Klopp will have to rely on Spanish goalkeeper Adrian to represent the Reds in their Super Cup fixture against Chelsea in Istanbul. This is due to first-choice keeper Alisson Becker picking up a calf injury that has ruled him out of action for the next few weeks.

News of Alisson’s injury first came as he was hauled off during the first half of Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Norwich City, during which substitute Adrian came on to mark his Liverpool debut.

Fortunately for manager Jurgen Klopp, Alisson remains the only new injury concern, as it is only right-back Nathaniel Clyne who remains unavailable for selection.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, on the other hand, find themselves in an injury turmoil, with the likes of Willian, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi all unavailable while N’golo Kante remains doubtful after picking up a slight injury during the Blues clash with Manchester United.

Following Chelsea’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester United in their Premier League opener, all eyes will be on newly-appointed manager Frank Lampard, who already finds himself in the hot seat after a nightmare start to his debut Premier League campaign as a manager.
