History was made on Thursday night as Liverpool FC clinched its first-ever Premier League title, an agonizing and embarrassing sore point for the Reds during the past three decades.

The 2019 Champions League winner has been one of the top teams in the world over the past few seasons but had still been unable to break their league drought in England thanks in large part to Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the table.

However, in an ironic twist of fate, it was Manchester City’s 2-1 loss at Chelsea on Thursday which sealed the Reds’ first-ever Premier League title.

Liverpool’s last English league title had come in 1990 when they won the English First Division before the creation of the Premier League.

Liverpool has dominated the league all season long, but its title hopes were cast into question when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of the remainder of the season in March. There were questions as to whether or not the season would resume and if Liverpool would be able to hoist the title, but those doubts were eventually resolved.

With seven games left in the season, Liverpool will look to avoid any significant injuries and enjoy the rest of the season as they celebrate their hard-earned and well-deserved crown.
