Detroit Lions right guard T.J. Lang left Sunday’s game against the Cowboys in the first quarter after suffering a concussion.

After experiencing a serious brain injury last season, Lang’s 2018/19 season could be cut short after he collided with Cowboys’ Jaylon Smith in the first quarter of Sunday’s game and got hit in the head. The 31-year-old was quickly rushed off the field and got replaced by Kenny Wiggins.

Last year, Lang missed a series of games due to foot and brain injuries. He didn’t complete many of the matches he played, including earlier this year when he suffered a back injury. The former Packers’ right guard has had serious injuries in the past five years. While at Wisconsin, Lang once narrated his history with brain injuries, describing how scary the experiences have been.

“Yeah, I’ve had my fair share. I think I’ve had three or four, and they are scary to go through,” Land said. “It’s a scary thing, but everybody in this league knows the risk that they have by going out there and playing this game.”

Lang made his NFL debut with the Green Bay Packers in 2009 and remained in Wisconsin until 2017 when he signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions.
