Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is the winner of Sunday’s dramatic British Grand Prix. This marked the first win for the Mercedes driver since 2021 and Saudi Arabia GP.

British GP featured mixed conditions race that saw several lead changes and forced teams to be strategic with tire changes. Mercedes ended up making the right moves, switching from intermediate to slicks early on after the rain stopped and setting up Hamilton to take the lead in the 40th lap. McLaren’s delayed Lando Norris, who had the lead up to that point, went to a pit stop one lap later than Hamilton, which proved to be a costly mistake.

Hamilton managed to keep his lead until the finishing line, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished second after overtaking Norris on 48thlap of 52.

Hamilton was emotional after the race, shedding tears of joy and saying that he started thinking that he might never get another win in F1.

“When I came across that line, something released in me that I guess I’ve been holding on to for a long time,” Hamilton told reporters. “It was the most emotional end to a win that I’ve ever experienced. I’ve always wondered why I never cry, and I always thought I guess it doesn’t happen to me, but it hit me hard this time.”

This was the ninth British GP win for Hamilton, the most by a driver on a single circuit in F1 history. It was also a record-extending 104thwin for Hamilton in his F1 career.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
