Star Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, who informed his club this year that he did not want to sign a new contract to stay in the Premier League, is reportedly on the move to Bayern Munich after contract negotiations went well.

Sane, the Germany international, is set to return to his home country’s biggest club on a $51 million fee after a spell in which he became one of the world’s biggest young players in England.

The 24-year-old broke onto the scene at Schalke 04 in 2014, scoring 11 goals in 47 matches as a teenager and quickly establishing himself as one of the top talents in the game.

He took the next step forward with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City after the English giants signed him for $58 million through 2021. There, he won two Premier League titles and recorded 39 total goals and 45 assists over all competitions.

Sane’s 2019-20 season only resulted in him playing one game after missing all of the beginning of the season with an ACL tear. While he made a brief debut as a substitute in City’s June 22nd win against Burnley, those were the only 11 minutes which he played all season.

Now, Sane will look to establish himself as one of the Bundesliga’s biggest starts and look to push his new team to a Champions League title for the first time in nearly a decade.
