Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl scored twice in the Oilers’ 6-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday to take his points tally to 100 for the season. In addition, NHL scoring leader Connor McDavid added one goal and an assist in the Oilers’ resounding victory.

“I thought the best player on the ice tonight was Leon Draisaitl … by a country mile,” Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft stated after the game. “I thought he played the game like he was on a mission. I think he was 70% in the faceoff circle, he had a good conscience about him the entire game in terms of both sides of the puck, and I think when he plays in the middle, he really gets his feet moving.”

Now, Draisaitl has 44 goals in total this season, while McDavid pushed his assist tally to 73 as well as his scoring tally to 56. This is the first time since 1973-74 and 1974-75 that teammates were the first players to 100 points in the NHL for two consecutive seasons.
