In one of the derbies in this week’s German Bundesliga, RB Leipzig earned a point against the defending champions Bayern Munich. Niko Kovac’s position in Bayern is questionable again after Bayer earned their second draw in the season having only 2 wins so far.

Robert Lewandowski opened the score for Bayern early in the 3rd minute, following an assist from Tomas Muller. The Bavarians controlled the ball in the first half, keeping the hosts at bay, but in the very end of the first half, Leipzig were awarded a penalty after Poulsen was brought down by Lucas Fernandez in the box. Emil Forsberg took the penalty and scored past Neuer, who dived to the correct side, but Forsberg’s shot was very accurate and ended in the goal.

At the start of the second half, Leipzig took over the ball and tried to press the Bavarians, creating many chances in the opening minutes. Neuer kept his team in play with some fantastic saves but Timo Werner and Marcel Sabitzer were a constant threat in the second half, leaving Bayern with only one chance to take back the lead. After this match, Leipzig remains at the top with 10 points, followed by Dortmund with 9 and Bayern with 8 points.
