Cavs fans, we don’t mean to worry you, but according to the Yahoo Sports, LeBron James is set to miss another preseason game due to his sprained ankle injury. Cleveland Cavaliers will play a game versus the Indiana Pacers on Friday night and will do so without their best player. James was also absent during their game against Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
James suffered an injury when he stepped on the foot of one of his teammates during the Cavs practice on September 27. He was participating in the team’s practice on Thursday, in order for Cavs to see if he was ready to get back on the court and participate in the game. Obviously, he didn’t fully recover from the injury and the team will make him sit for out of precaution.
LeBron James isn’t the only Cleveland Cavaliers player who has injury issues. Iman Shumpert suffered a left foot injury in the first quarter of the game vs. the Hawks and didn’t return. After additional tests, it was revealed that Shumpert experienced a left foot sprain. He is currently undergoing treatment and is projected to be back in seven to 10 day.
In their first preseason game against the Hawks, Cavs had looked good in the first half. Team’s new additions Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder all played well and showed that they will be more than useful in Cavs’ hunt for the title. Still, the Hawks picked up in the second half and won the game.
”The first unit picked up the plays a little better than the second and third units,” said Cavs coach Tyronn Lue. “You can tell they kind of clicked a little bit offensively. That’s a good sign. They were moving the basketball, making the right play and getting assists on made baskets. We did that early in the game.”
