Los Angeles Lakers are not having the start of the season many fans imagined when LeBron James joined the team in the summer. Instead of getting back on the winning ways, Lakers have opened the 2018-19 NBA with three consecutive losses and look like they have a long way to go before becoming an NBA title contender once again.

Still, despite these defeats and other problems Lakers are facing with, LeBron James doesn’t intend to start panicking. Speaking with reporters after Monday’s overtime 142-143 loss to San Antonio Spurs, James said that he knows what he “got himself into” and that building a winning team in Los Angeles “is a process.”

It’s not tough,“- said the 33-year-old. “I know what I got myself into. It’s a process. I get it. And it will be fine.”

So, I didn’t come here thinking we were going to be blazing storms right out of the gate. It’s a process, and I understand that.

James also said that he likes the direction Lakers are going in.

We’re going to continue to get better,” – he added. “We’re going to continue to get better. I like the direction we’re going in. Obviously, it’s not resulting in the wins right now, but it’s such a long process.

LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in July, signing a four-year, $154 million contract. Through three opening games of this NBA season, James has been averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.3 steals.
