The Los Angeles Lakers might be struggling and currently on the outside looking in of the Western Conference playoff picture, but it’s impossible to count out any team that has LeBron James.

The Lakers opened up their post-All Star Break campaign with a gutty 111-106 home win over the Houston Rockets.

Before Thursday’s game, LeBron said that he was going to have to up his effort and intensity levels during the regular season if the Lakers are to make the playoffs. He showed that he is ready to battle until April in the hopes of the Lakers qualifying with his performance on Thursday.

LeBron played 40 minutes and recorded a double-double, scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. He also added 6 assists. All 5 of LA’s starters ended the night in double figures, with small forward Brandon Ingram complimenting LeBron’s double-double with one of his own. He finished with 27 points and 11 boards.

The Lakers found themselves down by 19 points midway through the third quarter of their game against Houston. Instead of folding and collapsing as they have been prone to do this season, they took a step and mounted a massive comeback that resulted in them moving back to .500 on the year.

The Lakers now find themselves 2.5 games behind the Clippers for the West’s final playoff spot.

They are back in action against New Orleans on Saturday night.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
