LAFC continue to strengthen their roster for the upcoming 2019 MLS campaign. The team announced on Wednesday that they had signed US youth international midfielder Alejandro Guido from Liga MX side Tijuana. The financial terms of the deal remained undisclosed.

The news was also confirmed on LAFC’s official Twitter profile.

“Alejandro has all the attributes to succeed in this league and we believe he will have an immediate impact,” – said LAFC’s General Manager and EVP of Soccer Operations John Thorrington in a statement. “His qualities will prove to be a good fit with what we’re trying to implement this year and we look forward to his contributions over the course of the campaign.”

Alejandro Guido played the first seven years of his career with Tijuana, where he established himself as a valuable component in the team’s rotation. He leaves Mexico having played 56 games in all competitions while scoring two goals.

The 24-year-old represented the United States on all youth levels, being a part of the nation’s U-17, U-18, U-20, and U-23 teams. Guido also received a call-up for the senior team in May 2018 but wasn’t able to make his USMNT debut due to a groin injury.
