Colombian midfielder Eduard Atuesta did enough in his first season in MLS to extend his stay with LAFC. Atuesta initially came to Los Angeles on loan from Colombia’s Independiente Medellín in early 2018, and LAFC recently activated the option to make the move permanent. Now, according to AS’ John Rojas,  the 21-year-old inked a three-year deal with the team.

The club made use of the purchase option and we signed for the next three seasons,” – Atuesta told Rojas.

Since coming to Major League Soccer, Eduard Atuesta managed to show flashes of exciting talent, being one of the LAFC’s key players in the midfield. Although Auesta managed to contribute with just one goal and two assists in 25 appearances, his play off the ball was more than impressive.

Eduard Atuesta climbed his way through Independiente Medellín’s youth before making a debut for the senior team in 2016. In two years he spent playing for the club he managed to play 44 games and played a role in winning 2016’s Categoría Primera A trophy. In March 2018, Atuesta decided to come to the United States and joined LAFC for their inaugural season in MLS.

Atuesta is also a member of Colombia’s U-20 national team and has served as their captain during the 2017’s South American Championship.
