The third round of MLS is Back Tournament gave us the first El Trafico of 2020, and it’s safe to say we were not disappointed. There were eight goals to enjoy with LAFC getting a dominating 6-2 win over LA Galaxy.

Both clubs entered the match without their Mexican star attackers. LAFC was without Carlos Vela, who decided to sit out the tournament, while Galaxy was without Javier Chicharito Hernandez, who is dealing with a strained calf. Still, there was more than enough attacking power left.

Galaxy managed to draw first blood of the game thanks to Latif Blessing, who scored an own goal in the 5th minute. Then, the referee took the stage by awarding penalties to each team. Diego Rossi scored the first one for LAFC in minute 13′, while Cristian Pavon helped Galaxy reclaim the lead in minute 31′ from the second penalty of the game.

However, since then, it was all LAFC and Rossi.

Rossi scored his second goal just before the end of the first period to help LAFC to equalize, and then assisted Bradley Wright-Phillips in 56th minute to give his team the lead. Rossi contributed two more goals before the end of the game, while Mohamed El-Munir added one for a final score of 6-2.

This was second straight El Trafico win for LAFC and helped the organization to level the head-to-head record against Galaxy to 2-2-3. It was also the most dominant win by any team in the history of El Trafico.
