LA Chargers Break the Internet With Their Schedule Release

The NFL teams have become increasingly creative over the years with how they announce their schedules for the upcoming season. However, the Los Angeles Chargers’ schedule release for the 2022 NFL season will be hard to top.

The Chargers released their schedule for the upcoming season as an anime-style video. The two-minute clip is filled with beautiful animations, references to popular animes, easter eggs, and some funny and savage roasts of the opposing teams.

For example, the Chargers’ Week 1 opponent, the Las Vegas Raiders, are presented as a pirate crew from One Piece. The matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs is presented in the form of a mecha fight between LA’s talented signal-caller Justin Herbert and the Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Several Chargers’ opponents didn’t receive such a glowing presentation, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cleveland Browns, and the Seattle Seahawks. The video takes a shot at the Jags’ disastrous Urban Meyer experiment, the Browns’ signing of Deshaun Watson, and the Seahawks’ rebuild. The Arizona Cardinals’ QB Kyler Murray wasn’t spared as well, with the clip making fun of his offseason social media mishaps.

Despite probably offending some teams, the video was a hit and was watched close to five million times on Twitter alone in less than 24 hours. Check it out below.
