23-year-old PSG striker Kylian Mbappe has extinguished rumors surrounding his alleged desire to leave the club during the January transfer window. These rumors began after the French national declined a contract renewal offer from the Ligue 1 club in August; a move that was seen as highly decisive due to his current contract’s expiration at the end of the season.
Despite only becoming a free agent in the next preseason transfer window, Mbappe is now eligible to begin arranging a move to another club. He has refused to do so, however, going on to dispel rumors of a move to Real Madrid in January.
“I will give everything I have to win the Champions League, the league, and the cup and to give all the pleasure to the fans because they deserve it,” Mbappe stated during an interview.
While he admitted to desiring a move away from PSG last July, Mbappe does not regret the fact that he made his feelings publicly known, explaining that it is better that he remains honest about his future plans. The young striker explained that he remains committed to seeking victories in the league, the cup, and the Champions League with PSG, while also expressing his delight at working with new arrivals such as Lionel Messi.
