Kylian Mbappe revealed late on Wednesday that he is still unsure of whether he will sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain before his current deal lapses in the summer or leave the club as a free agent. Last summer, the French striker claimed that he had no intention of signing a new agreement with the Parisian club.
With his current contract coming to an end, Mbappe is free to negotiate with other clubs for a move at the end of the season. Still, the 25-year-old player refused to rule out the possibility of remaining in Paris following his team’s Champions Trophy win. “No, to start with I’m very motivated by this year,” Mbappe stated. “It’s very important. We have titles to win and we have already won one. I haven’t made my decision yet.”
Real Madrid have long expressed their interest in Mbappe, with rumors circulating of a move once Mbappe’s PSG contract was up in the summer of 2022. Despite coming close to joining the Spanish giants, Mbappe made a U-turn and remained at PSG.
