La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid officially confirmed the signing of French star striker Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé will join Real after his contract with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of June.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” Real said in a short statement posted on their website.

Reportedly, Mbappé will receive a €130 million signing bonus with a salary in the range of €26 million annually.

Mbappé himself also confirmed the news via a post on social media in which he shared photos of his younger self in Real Madrid’s gear.

“A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. ¡Hala Madrid!,” Mbappé wrote.

Mbappé, a longtime fan of Real Madrid, has been linked with Los Blancos for the past several years. He was close to coming to Santiago Bernabeu in 2022 but decided to sign a contract with PSG instead. This time, however, the French international believed it is the right time for him to move on.

Mbappé leaves PSG after winning six League 1 trophies while also becoming the top goalscorer in the club’s history. He scored 256 goals and added 108 assists in 308 games with PSG in all competitions. This includes 44 goals and 10 assists in 2023-24.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
