Paris Saint-Germain’s star striker Kylian Mbappe has reportedly made a decision on his future. According to influential French media outlet Le Parisian, Mbappe will leave PSG in the summer and join Real Madrid as a free agent.
Mbappe is expected to make his decision official in the coming weeks. According to reports, he feels it is the right time for him to make a switch and represent the club that he supported growing up.
Mbappe will see his contract expire at the end of the 2023-24 season. PSG reportedly offered him a new extension that would include an increase on his €72 million annual salary and €100 million in bonuses in an attempt to convince him to stay.
Real’s contract offer is believed to be significantly smaller compared to one proposed to PSG, but the allure of suiting up for a club that his idols Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo played for was too strong for Mbappe to miss.
It is important to note that Mbappe has a habit of changing his mind, considering he was close to signing with Real in 2022 before opting to stay with PSG. So, until an official announcement is made, there is still room for unexpected developments.
Mbappe has been in fine form this season, scoring 20 goals and adding four assists in 19 Ligue 1 matches. He also added nine goals in other competitions.
