New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is set to undergo surgery on his left ankle, the team confirmed on Monday. The 25-year-old player is scheduled to undergo surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Robinson was injured during the Knicks’ 133-123 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday night, which saw him swiftly ruled out of Monday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors. He is set to be reevaluated after eight to ten weeks of rehabilitation.
So far this season, Robinson has averaged 6.2 points on 59.2 percent shooting, 1.3 blocks, and a team-leading 10.3 rebounds in 21 games this season. Since being drafted by the Knicks in the second round of the 2018 draft, Robinson has attained career averages of 8.1 points and 8.0 rebounds in 310 games with 196 starts.
