Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins underwent surgery on Wednesday morning to repair his torn right Achilles tendon. Cousins revealed on social media that his surgery was a success before asking fans for their “continued prayers” as he embarks on the recovery process.
Cousins was placed on injured reserve after the Vikings’ 24-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Before his injury, coach Kevin O’Connell praised Cousins for what he considered to be the quarterback’s best season of his career to date.
Up until Week 8, the Vikings star quarterback was tied for the most touchdown passes in the league with 18 while ranking second in passing yards (2,331) and had the 10th-best QBR (63.5).
